New (and better paying) work for Greta

My stint at the Department of Revenue wasn't set to end until late March. However, I decided to cut it short in favor of a better paying and slightly more prestigious and interesting ("slightly" being the operative word) position for McGraw Hill, the publishing company. Essentially I'm still a temp (working for a different agency), but now instead of simply sorting paperwork, I evaluate the writing samples from standardized tests in Arizona. Why Denver if they're from Arizona? I really don't know. However, the position requires a bachelor's degree, which is nice, since I have one. In fact, that's how they found me in the first place; my resume was posted online and they saw that I was qualified and offered me a job, simple as that. While the location is a bit far, it is walking distance from one of the new lightrail stations, so getting there isn't too hard for me. In fact, I end up leaving from the house about the same time I have been, since work starts an hour later than in used to.

The nature of the work requires some qualifying tests first, the last of which will be administered tomorrow (our third and final training day). Assuming I passed Friday's test and that I pass Monday's (knock on wood), I'll have this job till sometime in May. Then it's back to the ol' job search. If I'm ambitious, I'll be surveying permanent job openings the entire time. If I'm not, then back to Westaff I go, maybe back to the Department of Revenue, maybe somewhere entirely different, or maybe I'll see if I can do some transcribing for the company where Brent works.
