A good weekend

That last post was only a sample of the treats last weekend held for me and my cohorts.

Thursday night Brent and I finally got around to using a coupon we had for a free salsa lesson. Kristin and Tabitha came too, and the four of us made merry over beer and burritos, then learned some sexy dance moves. They made us rotate partners, so everyone got to dance with practically everyone else on the floor. This was challenging, but ultimately helpful, and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Friday night we all felt like dancing again, so Kristin, Brent and I invited Jenn along (Tabitha was working) and the four of us went out to Club Vinyl. Unfortunately it was a bit dead there, and they only had one dance floor open (our least favorite) so we moved on. It worked out that only Brent had to pay cover (Lady's night) so we didn't lose too much money on that. We migrated to a lounge/bar called Funky Buddha, had a drink, then went down to The Church as a last resort. The Church, as it turned out, was hopping, so we stayed there the rest of the night until about 1:30 or 2. At that point we were all hungry so we went to a local place called McCoy's for late night munchies. Everyone went home full, happy, and tuckered out from dancing.

Saturday Brent and I went thrift storing to find costumes for a mardi gras party. Kristin tagged along, then in the afternoon we two girls ended up taking an impromtu road trip to Pueblo to visit her grandmother. I liked her; she was a character, and she gave me chocolate cake and a plant.

Sunday I wanted to go to the mountains. After some grocery shopping with Kristin's mom, the infamous trio (Kris, Brent and I) drove up to Lookout Mountain in Brent's car. We mostly drove around, but stopped in at the nature center a bit. We saw some deer on the way down. When we reached School of Mines there was debate of where to go next, and my half-joking suggestion of Idaho Springs was taken seriously, so we spent the late afternoon in the hot springs. No one had brought a swim suit, so we opted for a private bath and went nude. It was quite relaxing and steamy, and Kristin and I noticed our skin was very soft from the minerals today.

So that was my atypically full weekend of wonder. I only hope its pleasantness carries over to the week ahead.
