Mardi Gras in costume

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but haven't been at a computer long enough till now.

Last Saturday night a couple of Brent's friends had invited us to a Mardi Gras costume party at their home in Westminster. After a couple of trips to thrift store, we decided to be Night and Day. My costume was based around a set of starry patterned curtains. Brent's was bright and rainbow-colored, and we spiked his hair with a yellow tinted creme to make him look like the sun. After it was all put together we decided Brent was quite the flamer, so we changed our title to "Night and GAY." I went with a slightly gothic approach-- black lips and eyeliner, and moons and stars on my face. The idea was to be polar opposites.

The party crowd was mostly folks a bit older than us, married with kids for the most part. They served Hurricanes and a shot called an orgasm. The liquor loosened people up a bit, and soon we were all socializing and playing party games for beads. Not too much debauchery, but lots of fun.

After we left, we still felt awake enough to drive around a bit, and ended up going halfway to Boulder to get a nice view of the city lights before we headed home.
