During my absence

Sorry for the absence. I've been moving. And unpacking. And working. Two jobs.

The place is slowly approaching its readiness for our New Years Eve/Housewarming party. My stint at Ten Thousand Villages is over, with several Christmas presents and a spare paycheck to show for it. Christmas, in fact, is over. I spent Christmas Eve day cleaning my old place, but I've still got the bathroom, living room, and floor of the kitchen to do. Recycling, newspaper delivery, and energy bills are all taken care of with a couple of phone calls and a visit to Denver's website.

Over all, life is good. I kind of wish I wasn't working today, since we got a dumping of snow yesterday and more will be coming tonight. The good news is that it's a two day week. Work Wednesday, work Thursday, turn 24 Friday, clean old place and new place over the weekend, work Monday, party Monday night, day off Tuesday. And then it's full speed ahead into 2008.

Sunday was our first year's anniversary. We went out for fondue. This was just the main course!

Oddly more emotional

A friend wrote and asked me this:
"This is an even more random question but have you getting oddly more
emotional over the past week and not quite sure where its coming from?
Just curious."

I decided to share my answer here, because it outlines my week.

"I have had emotional moments over the past week, but I wouldn't say that my emotions have been unfounded. What with moving soon, and having a rough week at work, I'm bound to snap a little easier (as in, feel like crying or whatever). I'm planning a New Years Eve party and thinking of inviting old friends I haven't talked to in a while. Plus my dreams have been fairly memorable. I wrote York an email on Sunday because I had a dream about him and we've been writing back and forth for a few days now. Last night I dreamt I was being extorted by members of the police and the government. Then they set me and several others up and flooded downtown denver to try to drown us. I came out ok, but it was a pretty intense scenario.

So, make of that what you will. I'm not sure what exactly what you meant by 'oddly more emotional.'

Love
Greta"

Brent and I move in on the 16th (we get our keys on the 15th, but I'm working). My property manager is already starting to show my place, which is fine. Packing begins as soon as more boxes become available.
